Can't go wrong picking others from Tarkovsky's catalogue too. They all confused me at first but are good for rewatching. If you watch Andrei Rublev someday, look for the director's cut version called The Passion of Andrei (Страсти по Андрею), it has some scenes which were deleted from the final cut

what genre? I know a few movies there:
Come and See (Elem Klimov, Soviet Union, 1985) It's about a Belarusian boy who joins the partisans during Nazi occupation.
Mandabi (Ousman Sembène, Senegal, 1968) Been a while since I saw this, but I remember this movie being about a Senegalese man bumping against French colonial structures. The director Ousman Sembene was pretty cool.
The Colour of Pomegranates (Sergei Parajanov, Soviet Union, 1969) Classic art house film by Armenian director Sergei Parajanov.
I really liked the first basquiat painting I saw as a teenager with no context, and my appreciation only grows as I learn more
University of Helsinki students occupied a building in support of Palestine. The university denied the request to use the space for the protest (unlike other protests this year) and so they called the cops. Pig walks in to a crowd of booing like
amid chants of "University, you can't hide, you're supporting genocide!"
This is different. Traffic jams are a natural disaster, as is the forced displacement of Palestinians. These things just happen. Protests are manmade. /s
My Finnish isn't very good but the thing he shouts is "Four thousand fucking children! Four thousand children!"

Petteri Orpo showed up unannounced and without explanation at Kirjakahvila, which is a left-wing, volunteer-run bookshop and cafe combination in Turku. I immediately went to the place when I heard he was there and received him by taking this video. My only intention was to question his and the government's involvement in the Palestinian genocide through the arms trade, but I only managed to say one sentence, "317 million to Israel," before plainclothes police grabbed me and tried to drag me away. He didn't tell me he was a cop, so I assumed he was just an overzealous civilian. At this point I started shouting "You know that..." and in response this policeman, who still did not inform me in any way that he was a policeman, took me in a choke hold and violently dragged me away from the Prime Minister. You can hear the stranglehold in my voice ("Four thousand children!") when I'm being pulled out of the situation. The policeman in question only identified his official position after he had already forcibly forced me out. I was not arrested or charged with any crime.
I hope this situation will be a wake-up call for Orpo, so that he realizes what kind of fear and anxiety their genocide in Palestine causes to people." Says Comrade Tossavainen 🇵🇸

edit: oops I didn't see the last part about "less violent", this will not fit the bill
Finland followed through on closing the eastern border for 3 months, excluding the crossings in Lapland north of Karelia. The Estonian government is discussing taking the same steps.
The one which stays open in the south is Vainikkala, which it says beneath "only rail traffic" - afaik this is only cargo and not passengers.
Me too, fuck this place
The Finnish government is working on a plan to close the eastern border 🇫🇮 🔥 🇫🇮 🔥 🇫🇮 🔥 🇫🇮 🔥 🇫🇮 🔥
Not like it isn't already closed for tourist visas, air travel, and train travel.

The [Finnish] government will have to tighten the already prepared border proposal, as the situation has rapidly escalated at the border
Interior Minister Mari Rantanen (ps.) was to announce today the restrictions on border crossings at the eastern border at 17.30. At around 17.50, however, it was announced that the briefing had been cancelled for today. The reason for the cancellation is that the decision could not be finalised today.
According to Yle, the restrictions planned by the government in recent days were not sufficient. The number of asylum seekers is growing faster than the government expected, which is why it is preparing tougher restrictions for tomorrow. The decisions will be taken tomorrow at a general session of the Council of State at 13:00, followed by a press conference.
Yle sources do not comment on whether the decision to be prepared will allow for the closure of border posts on the eastern border. Decisions will be made on the basis of how difficult the situation becomes and what is legally possible.
The Prime Minister's Office told STT earlier in the day that the Council of State would hold an extraordinary general session today. The matter was first reported by Ilta-Sanomat.
Last weekend, the Border Guard reported an increase in the number of asylum seekers. By 18:00 on Wednesday, 74 asylum seekers had arrived at border crossing points in south-east Finland. On Monday, a total of 39 arrived and on Tuesday 55. This is what it's all about:
Russia has started to allow people with incomplete travel documents to cross the Finnish border. For example, they lack a visa or a passport.
The Border Guard reported an increase in the number of asylum seekers over the weekend. According to the Finnish Border Guard, more asylum seekers than usual have arrived at border crossing points in South-East Finland in recent months.
The number of arrivals has been increasing daily. Dozens of asylum seekers have arrived daily at border crossing points in South-East Finland this week. The number of asylum seekers is estimated to reach hundreds.
The arrivals are third-country nationals. Among the arrivals so far are nationals of Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Turkey and Somalia. They arrive in Finland mainly during the evening, night and early morning hours.
People have arrived at the border mainly in small groups, some on bicycles. Bicycle entry was banned from last Thursday.
Interior Minister Mari Rantanen (ps.) told Yle on Tuesday evening that Finland could close its eastern border and even the whole country's border in certain circumstances. According to Rantanen, this is a case of illegal entry.
Asylum applications cannot be completely prevented. The right to apply for asylum is a human right that is enshrined in international treaties.
The situation on the eastern border has also activated smugglers. Arabic-language messages offer transport from Russia to Finland for $2,000.
The increase in the number of asylum seekers is also reflected in the reception centre in Lappeenranta.
Russia carried out a similar operation on the Finnish border during the 2015 refugee crisis. At the turn of 2015-2016, almost two thousand asylum seekers from Russia entered Finland via the Salla and Inari Raja-Joosep border posts.
It's not a quote from Lenin, the words are from the guy in the video. It was more like a dark joke during a difficult time (start of the civil war in Ukraine) where different groups of opportunists try to take control in an unstable situation. More like a play on words that his call sign is Vladimir Ilyich, and the joke was that he was being asked what he will do, yet he answered what Lenin would do
