I dont know where all the blood splatter just came from but its highly susceptible to mold growing over it.

All blood splatter tiles turn into mold tiles.

They still move following Conway’s way of life.

Ps: this is a permanent effect. All future blood splatter will immediately do the same.

Those analogies though…

Never copy paste what the ai generates blindly.

Yes. “That isn’t exactly free” indeed.

We give power to greed and it has corrupted our institutions. We differentiate far to little between personal ownership (to maintain and survive) and private ownership (to profit and expand) when it comes to taxes.

Any system where people will die from lack of resources should be abolished.

Sorry, what is Musk in control over? He won capitalism in a way (with a lucky spawn) but hes not actually in charge of anything valueble or dangerous is he?

Now facebook has been involved in so many privacy scandals, uploading your contacts from emails and phones, reading whatsapp messages. collecting medical information from other apps. They must have the largest database of human behaviour in the world.

That + AI Is really fucking scary..

Anarchy for the few, slavery for the rest of us.

You mean analog cables like those shown in the picture?

Only (consumer) digital audio cable i own is a usb headset and apparently gold plated usb is so stupid there not even trying to sell those.

I am not convinced that the meme author didn’t know what they where doing and this is ragebait though.

Q1: What is the model/type of your monitor and would you recommend it?

Q2: Does your monitor support native PIP/PBP (and convenient on the fly switching) without software?

Q3: Does The PIP/PBP function of your monitor require 2 sources? Can this be the same source?

Q+: For the advanced users, can i control PIP/PBP with tools like these? linux tool / Windows tool

Context: I have been a dual monitor enthusiast ever since i found an old unused CRT monitor on my parents attic. This has since been a core part of how i use computers. Currently i am rocking a standard 1440p main monitor and a vertical (16:10 FTW) 1050p one. My reliance on needing more screen space then my peers goes as far as my job having to purchase me an extra monitor as part of my disability package.

I have seen ultra wide monitors IRL and i absolutely love them, but for a matter of fact buying one means no more space for any others. That's why i am so interested on the PIP feature but stores rarely ever mention them.

I know that for 90% i wont even need to use that feature, but if i play a video full-screen, or a game (some really do not like windowed mode) and i cant use my virtual buttons/display features/something completely different on the side i am gonna regret my decision big time.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

In the light of google cracking down on ad block i want to be pro-active and automatically download new videos to my jelly fin server.

I was thinking off using this tool https://youtube-dl.org/ and writing a small script for it (with help of gpt4) but i am missing any general strategy on when i should trigger it and how to make sure it downloads all of the new videos exactly once.

I am hoping that i am not the first to do this and people can give me some good tips before i put to much work into this project.

Link to the site of webtelescope because lemmys image upload is still broken.

Paperclip maximizer would suggest the ai will purposely kill undesirables to “save” others because no option to avoid harm in the situation was presented in the training data.

In a recent interview, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, shared his vision for the future of AI and its potential to transform society. He emphasized the importance of democratizing AI and ensuring its benefits are accessible to everyone. Altman also discussed the need for global regulation to manage potential risks associated with powerful AI systems.

Altman believes that AI can significantly improve the quality of education and healthcare globally, and could even help eradicate poverty. However, he acknowledges the potential risks and advocates for a globally coordinated response to manage these risks.

One of the key points Altman made was about democratizing the control of OpenAI. He stated that the board of OpenAI should be democratized to all of humanity over time. He believes that the benefits, access to, and governance of AI technology should belong to humanity as a whole, and not be concentrated in the hands of a single company or individual.

Altman also addressed the relationship with Microsoft, stating that while it's not without its challenges, it's the best major partnership he's been a part of. He dismissed concerns about Microsoft having more control over OpenAI than the leadership realizes.

In terms of AI's potential to self-improve, Altman acknowledged that this is a classic sci-fi idea and that it's worth paying attention to, even though we're a ways away from that reality.

Microsoft's search engine platform is piloting advancements in image recognition. This new feature will allow users to upload images and ask questions related to these images. Currently, this functionality is undergoing a cautious testing phase on 5% of all searches to ensure safety, alignment, and quality before a broader rollout.

I've spend a lot of time on r/singularity the past year but over that time i have seen it grow pretty disappointing.

The complexity of "The Singularity" means that some great articles, like those on nanoparticles, get overlooked and buried because they're harder to understand than a ChatGPT meme (no offense to those, though).

Finding new, high-quality content to share on this topic isn't easy either, especially with the influx of sensationalist articles. And if I do find a great article, chances are high that @Martineski has already posted it (good job, by the way).

So, here's an idea: why don't we get some futuristic help? There's a bunch of websites that are generally posted here more frequently because there content is just more aligned with out interests (my guess). We could have an AI sift through the .rss feeds from these sites, pick out the best articles, post them here and even include a brief summary explaining why you, an interested singularity enjoyer should care.

This could help us find and understand the right content more easily, and kickstart more engaging discussions about the singularity and our future. It's a proactive step to keep our community vibrant and informative. Thoughts?

Yes this post was partly made with help from ChatGPT.
