I don't get it. You could have probably maintained a Debian Sarge install and upgraded it all the way through to Bookworm. I'm kind of surprised they don't provide an upgrade path in place for Raspian when Debian can manage it.

I have seen more pro-Palestinian and anti-apartheid stuff than I thought I would. Obviously not from the usual shitheads like at the WSJ or NYT but just in online comments around spaces. Obviously the western news narrative is pro-apartheid so that part is very usual. The side commentary is not.

I see no evidence of this.

He's right. I'd also rather play Spider-Man than participate in a war. Maybe he should convince all his friends to play Spider-Man rather than enlist?

Casually racist website. Just like after 9/11 when it was very OK to to be casually racist against anyone who was tan skinned or appeared to be of a middle eastern descent and muslim.

Just like back then, I predict in a few years we will get the rebound effect where we have episodes of a tv show or a movie where a Chinese character will appear to be the villain but actually help the white protagonist against the real villain (chinese state, or american defector to china). This is Hollywood's version of DEI.

Yeah. I think I'll end up having to do platform-specific ifdefs with either pthreads or threads.h, so I guess I may as well use the much better established pthreads and get macOS support by default. In fact, I just now learned that even glibc didn't support C11 threads until 2018, according to this https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=14092#c10

This is gonna sound dumb but I was scared of that Captain Crunch Adventure game when I was a kid. I thought all the animations were extremely uncanny and off-putting. It was on my cousin's computer and I didn't play it much after The Cap'n introduced the game in the cave, because it was just Not Right.

On the trend of Tomb Raider having creepiness, TR2013 definitely did. It even had a scene ripped straight out of The Descent, which itself was paying homage to Apocalypse Now.

Top comment made me laugh

I have condoms that are 20 years old. And a CD of "Because I Got High" by Afroman.

Everything that is politically inconvenient for our ruling hegemony in this moment is Russian disinformation at worst, Soros funded as a middle ground, and Chinese propaganda at best. You don't even have to justify or prove it. Just claim it and it becomes as real as the ground under your feet.

This is really the most succinct and correct answer.

When I was younger I didn't think much of it in games like this, but when you go back and play something like Far Cry 3 or Tomb Raider (2013) and you realize how many people you kill along the way... goddamn.
