That's what I'm missing - we knew decades ago what happens after we hit 2C...
This, just like the current US collapse, it is just maddening to look at. Watching the bus drive off the cliff without even stepping off the gas and nobody batting an eye... I don't know how much more I can take.

WHAT THE FUCK are we doing? Alpine has been used in Docker, and Docker is now run everywhere.
WHY are these necessary tools underfunded? They barely even need anything. Why do companies not support them?
Can we start giving at least 0.000001% of net profit to the basic tools used? Can we globally force companies to give the smallest pittance to the open-source projects they make trillions off of?

No, it's not. OpenAI doesn't spend all that money on R&D, they spent majority of it on the actual training (hardware, electricity).
And that's (supposedly) only $6M for Deepseek.
