Speaking of software updates, the Air received more than 60 OTA updates over three years. At first, nobody at Edmunds really wanted to drive the Air because it would glitch out or ride poorly. On occasion, the doors wouldn't even unlock. Now, everyone is eager to get behind the wheel. That speaks volumes about the advantages of a software-defined vehicle.

That's not an advantage, that's a disadvantage of "software-defined vehicles". Lucid threw a super expensive car on the market, and the technical capability of OTA allowed them to ship a product that was so bad, that the customers didn't want use it. The only "advantage" here is that companies don't have to finish their products before selling them.

Well, same is true for large parts of Germany right now, but Tesla still doesn’t sell a lot of vehicles at the moment, because german racists seem to hate electric cars more than they like other racists.

The JD Vance hillbilly elegy thing. Please don’t hate me, I read this in 2017/18. It was a Christmas present and in my country was hyped at the time as the book you HAVE to read to understand why Americans from the flyover states like Trump and why they would vote for him.

I read the book. Not very interesting. Still didn’t understand why…

I’m not a book person, but I think Andromeda Strain is an interesting book. I like how it displays the (from today’s point of view) horribly outdated technology as advanced high-tech.

One of the cases of a mildly science fiction book, that got overtaken by reality.

I thought they stopped production because you don’t hear anything about it anymore. But from what I remember, it is/was a good car for its time, but is too expensive for 2020 tech in today’s market.

I’ve been watching this guy’s Youtube Channel (the german version) for several months now. Super interesting to see how battery-electric trucks are now reality and hydrogen nowhere to be found, while politics in germany still thinks hydrogen is the only way forward for trucks.

Would have considered an electric Alfa Romeo for the replacement of our Giulietta, but I don’t think the Stelvio will fit the budget, and Stellantis tech currently doesn’t seem to be very good.
