Yes, this is an interesting story. IIRC one gay bar already closed due to pressure from authorities to property owner. The owner decided to stop renting property to the bar.

Dread is like Reddit/Lemmy and it lives in Tor only. Google it, you ll find a Wikipedia page.

I think that's 50% true. There are multiple alternative places to host addons:

  • Microsoft Edge Store (or smth like that from Microsoft)
  • add0n.com and other similar "indie" places (but I'm not sure they provide updates)

These alternative places are not popular so Google Addon store is an effective monopoly. But I think it's not impossible to challenge that.

And I concluded that TILvids is the most decent instance if you consider userbase and quality videos/channels. At least for english-speaking folks. Am I right?
