i had never heard of relationship anarchy before and i find it very interesting - i may one day bring up the idea to some of my current friends. it would be nice to not be cast to the wayside when they find romantic partners because like you said, i hate it when that happens lol. and it can be tough going solo in an amato and allo normative world.

as for QPRs, i think that might be a little bit beyond what i want out of friendship, but to relate it to what another commenter said: i would like to be close with friends slightly more than what many would consider "just friendship", but definitely not romantic. the more i write and think about it the more i realize i just value my close friends and hope that they stay by my side for the foreseeable future. and heck, maybe even meet some new people too.

i really appreciate the points you brought up, they did help :)

that's how i felt when i realized i was ace - like that feeling i've always had in the back of my head that i'm not like how people are "supposed" to be finally had a name. and that there are others like me and it is ok to be this way.

i think i fit pretty neatly into the aroace possibly agender circle (these days at least), but i understand what you mean about society not having words for me. i think a lot of the confusion etc i've felt around this over the years is just that - confusing a desire for friendship with one for a partner. i've considered looking for a QPR but realistically i just don't think i have the patience for it.

i think you need to look up how supply and demand works. i've exhausted my "arguing with people on the internet who clearly don't want their minds changed" time for today, so have a good one.

yeah dude vegans make up a pretty small portion of the population, so of course the meat industry hasn't been just erased like magic. societal changes like this happen at a glacial pace and the idea is that more people become vegan over time and thus demand for those products gradually falls. even if 10% of the population went vegan, demand for those products would fall by 10% and there would be that many less animals killed for it because it would not be profitable.

to claim that it is ineffective is like claiming that eating healthy makes no difference from eating like shit after doing it for a single day and not seeing amazing results.

being vegan is literally about not supporting the meat industry, so i genuinely do not understand what you're trying to say. that one person alone being vegan won't make a difference? that not supporting the meat industry is the same as supporting the meat industry, which is demonstrably false? i don't know of a more easy and effective way for a single person to make a difference than to stop supporting it altogether, and broad change starts with individuals deciding to make that change.

please explain to me how what i wrote is different from what you wrote

so you're saying that they would just keep killing more and more animals to produce more and more meat even if nobody wanted to buy it?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago (18 children)

they are paid because people buy the products. if nobody bought the products, there would be no money in it. are you trying to say that people would be paid to kill animals even if nobody bought animal products?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago (20 children)

how do you think meat gets to the grocery store? someone has to kill an animal, and the person buying the meat typically pays money for it.

saturday is factorio night! gotta improve oil processing and fix some train deadlocks (assuming all 4 of us log on, a herculean feat)

decided someone needed to start sprouting some pikmin in here. i'm almost finished with it (i think) and as a long time fan of the series, this one has really got me hooked. i was so worried from the trailers that the new stuff like oatchi and the dandori battles wouldn't flow right or that the new aiming/lockon system would mess the game up, but it all works amazingly. there is so much less fiddling around with your pikmin and making sure everyone is in the right places and more just doing stuff. it rocks.

pikmin 4 area spoilersi just got to the 6th area and i am blown away by just how much is in this game! my jaw dropped when i saw there was a 5th full area, and i actually said "no way" out loud when they revealed the 6th area. AND this area addressed my issue of not all the pikmin types being useful! it just feels like this game is ready to burst with content between the numerous areas, caves, replayable dandori things, night missions, and the olimar mission which i haven't played yet.

my main gripe i have so far is the tried and true classic pikmin critique: the game suffers from being too easy in most areas. hopefully someone puts out a difficulty mod that isn't on kaizo levels at some point.

i also wish the caves were a little more complex, but the huge overworld areas make up for it with some of what i would call the best level design in the series.

what do you guys think of the new game? what's your favorite pikmin in it? favorite area? cave?

uncontrollable bean rage (lemmy.blahaj.zone)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

i HATE beans so much that i fly into a rage whenever the mere thought of beans enters my brain. i get so violent and out of control that i immediately kill and consume the nearest animal (not dogs you DUMB VEGANS) in a sort of fugue state. obviously i am very compassionate as i do this and use every part of the animal (this makes the animal happy)

this whole condition is agitated - obviously - by vegans existing and telling me to stop killing animals. aita?

rs or ae2 (channels on)

anyone else excited about this? i love these types of getting over it -likes and i'm super excited to give it a try. Moving that style of game into a 3d space introduces all sorts of challenges and gameplay options and im sure people are gonna have insane strats for stuff.

i could imagine a speedrunning community going crazy with this game instantly upon seeing it

hi lemmy, seeing as there isn't an established vegan community on here (that i could find), i thought someone ought to bite the bullet and make the first post.

what do we want out of this space? to be like the vegan subreddit, a place for vegans and a place to spread veganism to non-vegans? or something more staunchly anti-carnist?

whatever the case, happy to be annoying and b12 deficient in a new space not controlled by a corporation
