I know the mini has been around forever, but I just don’t understand the use case for this product in today’s world.

The air is similarly capable, only a few hundred more, and not tied to a power cord/ monitor/ desk. As someone who owns a lot of Apple devices, and usually doesn’t need much of an excuse to buy more, this one still eludes me

Honestly? Who cares. Development is fluid and things can change. All concept ships (especially those with no release date, or release > 6 months out) should be treated this kind of caution. Many of them have changed a lot from concept to production.

They have the Starlancer BLD now, so anyone who got a Galaxy for base building should just melt and get that instead (once available).

Well, a married household is basically a commune.

20 years post kick-starter seems reasonable. Besides, so many things they showed were already grey box, so you know they’ve gotta be only 2-3 years away on that stuff.

That’s why he’s aging so fast right now… he’s working really hard to try and stay out of prison!

Even in California, we got automatic voter registration passed the legislature, only for the governor to veto it.

Just wild that something so fundamental to a functioning democracy is so divisive.

I went Capresso Infinity Plus > Baratza Encore > Timemore Sculptor 078s. I also have a Commandante C40. I also pretty much exclusively do Pour Overs and Aeropress with Light Roast beans (I’ve found my favorite roaster to be Black and White. Any beans I get from them I find quite enjoyable, even their less expensive stuff).

The Caspresso was just OK. The Brataza could produce a decent cup, but the Commandante and the Timemore are just on another level.

I got the Timemore as part of their Kickstarter and during the 8 month wait from payment till delivery I found myself just not even using the Encore cuz the C40 was that much better… even though it took extra time and effort to hand grind the beans.

That said, if you’re not getting really good beans, and not being precise with your brew ratios and methods, the difference between all 4 of these might not be noticeable.

Yeah, I thought this was common knowledge

And they said it was “too close to the election” to replace Biden with Harris. How stupid.

Andor, Mando season 1, and Rogue One. Those are the only Disney produced Star Wars content worth a watch.

The prequels are bad… but not in the same way the Disney stuff is bad. Their main flaws lie in dialog and acting. You can see that Lucas had a story he wanted to tell, it was interesting… It just needed another couple rounds of polish (by someone other than Lucas and his yes-men) that it never got.

Most the Disney stuff, on the other hand, never had a chance. It all follows the principles of: design by committee, fan service, and rule of cool. There was never a vision for compelling story to be told…. Just dollars to generate.

So lets say my home instance is Instance A, but I'm browsing Community 1 in Instance B. Now in that community I see a comment that I want to reply to with a link to a comment I saw in Instance C, community 2, just because I think it's the most relevant to the discussion.

If I use the URL from the 2 chains "link" icon, that will send users to https://instance.a/comment/####### on my home instance. So that will send anyone from another instance who follows my link, to my instance and log them out of their account....

If I use the URL from the rainbow network "link" icon, it will send the user to https://instance.c/comment/#######, thus logging them out of their account on their instance (unless instance c happens to be their home).

But what about users coming across the conversation from Instance B? Or Instance D or F, or H? Is there a way to format the URL for that link such that anyone can follow it without moving to another instance, and/or logging out of their home instance?

This feels to me like it would be an important core feature of a platform like this.... otherwise when sharing ideas, usability becomes... challenging.
