What are the replies like? Some have a lot so it doesn't appear they're struggling at all.

It was a few years ago so it could well have changed. That said, I tried it again recently when they released the clip launcher and it crashed within a couple of minutes when adding vital to a track. I think that was reported and has probably been fixed but the remaining lack of recovery doesn't give me confidence.

I also reported the crashes and spent lots of time on IRC trying to find a solution when I was trying to use it but the ultimate response was that it was 3rd party vsts (and I believe my bug reports were never addressed) so I suspect nothing much has changed with it in that area. I never experienced the same thing in renoise, reaper or bitwig so I know which one I won't be using.

I mainly use Bitwig and hardware now so it's not really relevant to me but I haven't had great experiences with ardour and I consider losing work with no recovery at all to be pretty bad.

I started with ardour but got so frustrated with it randomly crashing and losing work that I gave up with it. It's pretty solid if you don't have this issue. Reaper is another level though imo, it can be hard to get used to but it's so powerful with customisation, built-in plugins, and the actions that I would never go back to anything else if I wanted to use a linear daw again.

Pam's new workout or Pam's pro workout? I can get new for half the price so trying to work out of it's half as good.

I actually find it easier. On the digitakt I just copy the pattern and start making small changes or mute some channels and straight away you have a variation. The transition can be difficult but if it's copied from the previous pattern it is usually a coherent change at least.

I think a lot just feel it is their right to use a car and being told not to is a threat to that autonomy so unfortunately they are stuck in this knee jerk reaction that they probably don't even really understand. And then there are others, like my housemate, who are very interested in cars as a hobby and feel threatened due to having that taken away from them.

Even just manually, how hard is it to put a reminder in a calendar somewhere? I've never understood how/why this happens, it's really but difficult.

This will be amazing if it works, I've been frustrated with mtp for so many years. Thanks for posting about it.

Edit: Windows only FFS. Guess I'll look at using adb itself as someone else mentioned here.

There are loads and a few of them don't hold much interest for me but it is amazing that you can swap them out and try something entirely different. Certainly makes it feel like a better investment.

Yeah I've given up on him to be honest. Kind of sad, we grew up together and he used to be quite alternative but has been sliding into someone I don't recognise. I can't comprehend it and most of the time I just let him expose what an idiot he's become. Just the other day he said "Trump wasn't that bad, he was the best of a bad bunch". I could hardly believe it... absolutely staggering. But yeah, like you said, it's a lost cause and he will only get worse and lost in his toxic Facebook groups.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply, lots of points to consider here. You're advice about just getting just a couple actually pushed me to jump in and make the order so hopefully I'll be receiving Morphagene and Desmodus Versio this week! I came across Desmodus while looking for distortion and realised I had to get it, it seems like it would be perfect for what I want.

I think I agree about Maths, the ability to have another drone could be very useful. I hadn't seen QARV but it looks like beast. I will have to research and think about the modulation aspect more, I was also looking at Ornament & Crime which looks incredible as well but I'm not sure how I feel about the screen and menus. Hard to dismiss that and Pams though considering how much they can do.

I've been looking at the Roucha Legio, which is how I came across Desmodus, and it's very tempting with it having distortion/shaping and filter in one smallish stereo module. It's a little pricey and I can't find much in the way of opinions at the moment but I guess I'll see how it goes with Desmodus, if the distortion there is enough then perhaps a cheaper filter will be all that's necessary.

I'm really glad you mentioned the output module, I realised that I do need one with an additional input so that I can incorporate my existing gear with the minimal connections I have available for the computer/speakers. I had some trouble finding one that had a) more than one stereo input, b) level for main out and c) level for headphones. There was one by 4ms that looked good but it's was bigger than I'd ideally want and a bit overkill so in the end I went for the Make Noise XOH. I'll see how this goes, seems like it will do everything I need at the moment and wasn't too expensive.

Thanks again, I'm starting to realise that this journey never ends and quickly becomes very expensive!

This is great to hear, I was worried it had been abandoned. I was very impressed with the alpha release and will definitely be using is when it matures a little.
