I have had this issue for a long time. I made a post about it a few weeks ago.

But with this current version 110 it's finally solved for me! Very happy as this was the one thing holding back connect from being perfect for me.

Note I am using the "larger" font size, not sure that makes any difference.

I love this feature. By far my favourite way of upvoting posts compared to using arrows or swiping.

Instructions for anyone lazy:

โ€ข Drag down your quick settings and long-press the Smart View tile.

โ€ข Tap on the three-dot icon in the top right and open settings.

โ€ข At the bottom of the screen, open the about Smart View menu.

โ€ข Rapidly tap on the part of the screen that says Smart View 10 times.

โ€ข When prompted, enter the password: #00rtsp00

โ€ข When the developer options menu opens, enable the Google Cast toggle.

I would pick an instance that is local/regional to you or one that is based on a specific interest area.

In my case I went with aussie.zone

One thing I've noticed, I tapped on the connect community and it took me into it, but I couldn't back out of it either using the back gesture or by taking the back arrow at top left.

I had to tap home.

Open the menu, to the right of where it says FrontPage click on the 3 dots and select Set Default.

Isn't the "front page" just your subscriptions?

Hi there,

I was able to work out the issue, but it might be of interest to you.

You can log in either with your username or email address. Either worked fine to login via the Connect app.

However, for some reason, when I had my lemmy.world account setup with my email address as the login, it caused issues switching back to the account once I switched away. The only way to go back to it was to sign out and then add the account again.

So I reset the app and set up both accounts with the login as my username instead of my signup email. Now I can freely switch between accounts.

 

I have three accounts at different Lemmy instances. I can set up and successfully log into any of these individually through Connect for Lemmy.

However, if I set up all three and try and switch between them I get an error message saying:

"An error occurred while switching."

Does anyone else have this issue?

I have all 3 set up on Liftoff and I can instantly switch between accounts. I prefer Connect, but the account switching issue is keeping me on Liftoff :(

Any tips on why I might be getting this error?
