The comic was called “Loss” because it was about the comic character losing his unborn child. It became a meme because it didn’t fit the tone of the comic series (normally about gaming and non serious stuff).
So now when anyone mentions the word “loss” (as OP did in the title of this post), people meme about it in some way. Usually by posting a minimalist version of the comic.
It was like that for TV too… back in the day there weren’t ads on cable, and then they just started adding them one day.

Yeah exactly, it’s the lowest of the major ones… not saying it’s bad or anything, just not exactly attractive to game devs
I was so proud of myself a couple years ago. I did my taxes in late January, shortly after getting the form from my employer, instead of waiting until April to do it. Then, shortly after that, they gave out another stimulus check (last one I believe). I barely didn’t qualify with the income I submitted with my tax paperwork, but would have qualified if I had waited until later to file my taxes because I made less in 2019. Now I’m back to procrastinating doing important tasks, because that step of locking in my choice “early” might come back to bite me somehow…
