Whenever someone says “in a few years”, I just think “yeah, I hope we live to see a few years from now too…”

If “acus” means that, then i wonder, how does “abacus” mean a thing you count with? Etymology is fascinating :)
Well it took them 50 years to figure out, whereas Adam guessed it immediately.
Yeah, and apparently that phrase dates back to at least a 1526 translation of the Bible. It’s old.
Fun fact, the “Quick” part of it is an old timey synonym of “Living”. So basically, Living Sand. It’s the same thing with Quick Silver (mercury).

I dropped it at the beginning of either 4 or 5. They apparently had a whole side story on some other platform involving one of the main characters, which had some events that happened between seasons, but they didn’t really explain it existed. So it felt super jarring and confusing walking into the new season, and I was just like “i’m done”.

It sometimes feels like this. At work i keep trying to let people help, and every time I do it comes back to bite me in the ass. I don’t WANT to micromanage, but they don’t give enough of a shit or miss things if I don’t basically direct them step by step and constantly followup. It’s exhausting… I miss working with reliable people.
