About to board a 737. Wish me luck

The Israel proposals reduced Palestine to a sham bantustans, would have disarmed Palestinians allowing for Israel to renege whenever it felt like it, and the peace process was ended anyways by extreme right-wing Israelis who would only accept a complete cleansing of Palestine.

Pure methanol should work, and failing that acetone. I use alcohol resistant markers for some work things and it's still possible to strip it.

I thought it was because Jesus came from the Middle East, Jesus = white, so QED Middle Easterners have to be white. The court rulings for the whiteness of Arabs happened in the early 20th century, predating any sort of hate crime and most civil rights measures.

Modern day though, I can see why MENA-american communities may want that distinction to grant protections.

If the US dropped the sanctions regime against the DPRK, I am sure that they would also compromise with western capital to facilitate investment/modernization like China and Vietnam did. Just like with Cuba, it is US intransigence and maintenance of war footing (the illegal blockade for Cuba, and the US military occupation of south Korea against the DPRK) that prevents cooperation.

Honestly, better than I thought that Haley would do, but this is going to be her best state by far. Just a grift for the gaggle of consultants in her campaign, with #resistance libs as probably the main victims.

Doesn't have much doohickey vibes

Following the end of World War 2, the US provided substantial aid to the KMT in the civil war, including a naval effort that would prevent the PRC (with its quite limited naval capacities) from a landing in Taiwan.

What trends to balloon the price of board games is miniatures, since mold casting is very expensive, and 3D printing is generally too low throughput for commercial products.

If I understand it correctly, the breakaway messianic sect claims the building that they were tunneling towards (which is owned by the other sect), and they made the tunnel to either break in or at least get closer to what they consider a holy site.

There is an explanation. It was part of a feud between Hasidic sects, where a breakaway sect was using the tunnel to break into a building they claimed.

Due to a power issue, it looks like the lander may now no longer have sufficient fuel to make a controlled landing on the moon. This was the lander that was set to carry human remains to the moon despite objections from the Navajo nation. Hopefully, this discourages any future attempts at such a stunt, since instead of a permanent mausoleum your ashes may instead be stranded in orbit or scattered amongst the moon dust if the thing crashes.

I am still fascinated with The Product, even if I have no intention of purchasing or playing it. Still listening, but some interesting tidbits so far are Braces reiteration that he isn't (legally) making any money on the game, and that one thing that inflated the cost of the game were the legal fees to have it reviewed to make sure it wouldn't be actionable in court. He also confirmed that courting negative media attention was 100% intentional and part of the game's marketing strategy.

Pretty neat/horrifying.

Main.

Lol.

It looks like Microsoft's ambitions to completely cannibalize OpenAI is coming to pass. Apparently, Microsoft already has a perpetual license to all of OpenAI's IP (link), and owned all the physical hardware running the OpenAI GPTs. So now that they're about to acquire basically OpenAI's entire staff OpenAI literally has nothing.

I think the interesting angle is the anti-trust angle. The board's ouster of Altman has essentially allowed Microsoft to strip OpenAI for parts without having to compensate the other investors or receive anti-trust scrutiny. It is a massive win for MS.

My guess is that this is the beginning of Microsoft consuming OpenAI in its entirety. As for the firing reason, it's sudden enough that it's probably personal misconduct (i.e. fraud or sex crimes.)

If the next Remedy game isn't 100% sung-through then they're sell-outs.

Looks like the last couple of posts were had their links scrubbed, but the sub is still up and the mods haven't been banned yet?

There was discussion on trying to have tone indicators used more often on Hexbear to make the space more ND inclusive. This is a slick looking set of tone indicator emojis that could be integrated relatively easily. Having tone indicators as emojis might make then more convenient for users and would also make them stand out much more clearly in a post.

Here is the list in this set: /gen (genuine) /hj (half joking) /ij (inside joke) /j (joking) /lit (literal) /- (negative) /+ (positive) /ref (reference) /rh (rhetorical) /s (sarcastic) /srs (serious) /? (what tone is this)
