Mine is 3 years old. Back then, I signed up but never really posted, just lurked for a while and went to explore Tildes instead. So yeah, didn't really do anything. I remember there being a few enthusiastic users about open-source software but also a few tankies, which kinda turned me off it. But I'm glad Lemmy's exploding with activity right now, as we got a more diverse userbase.

Just followed you. And here's mine: https://bookwyrm.social/user/BoormanTheChauffeur . Like others have said, I use it mostly to keep track of what books I'm reading and also ones I've read.
Thanks for the video, I finally understand how to search and find communities from other instances in my home instance. I'm already subscribed to a few from beehaw but I went to Communities -> All and then browsed through the pages. The way you explained it is so much easier.
As a fan of both games, this is perfect. And even though you can already be a space trucker in Elite Dangerous, there's no truck-shaped space ships, so I guess that's the untapped market they're going for.
That's a good point, completely forgot about spoilers. I guess if people are fine with tagging spoilers and the thread being full of those, it could work but it's not ideal, imo.
Domi made a good point, people won't want to see spoilers of episodes they haven't watched yet. Forgot about that. I guess it could work if people tagged spoilers but then it would just be a thread full of posts inside spoiler tags.
As for the system, eh, it's ok:
Example
This is a spoiler
But I couldn't see it on Jerboa, only when using Lemmy through a browser. Maybe I've missed it or it hasn't been implemented yet?
EDIT: Yep, spoiler tags don't work on Jerboa, as far as I can tell.
For now, I'd rather have a weekly thread for all anime airing this season, to be honest.
While the romcom genre is not my favourite by any means, I really enjoyed because it was done so well. Its strongest point for me as the interaction between characters, as it flowed really well. The ending was good, if not expected, but better that than unexpected and disappointing.
I signed up... checks notes... 3 years ago?! I don't even remember why! But I haven't posted much or at all since then. Now that Lemmy is gaining traction and is becoming more active, I'm trying to contribute to it as much as I can. So far, I've tried to comment at least once a day.
Haven't seen any of that so far.
Yep, felt the same way on reddit. Sometimes, I started writing a comment but then halfway through I thought to myself "can I really muster the energy to engage with people who just skim through it or aggressively pick it apart and write an essay on how right they are with sources either taken out of their ass or taken out of context just to suit their viewpoints?". So I just ended up deleting it and go back to lurking.
Originally, like someone said, it was a derogatory term for supporters of Khrushchev military intervention against a revolt in Hungary in 1956.
It is also used to pejoratively refer to a supporter of some leftist regimes, such as that of Stalin's USSR, China, and North Korea (also Pol Pot's Cambodia, probably). Are also a supporter of Putin's Russia and its invasion of Ukraine.
Take of it what you will.
