Maybe it's cultural but "toots" just make me think of farts.

I just wish they could satisfy that want by spending that money on poor people instead of rich people. Donate to a charity instead of buying emojis.

There has to be a line somewhere where your ideology meets reality. Maybe that line doesn't extend to living off-the-grid on a commune and growing your own food, but I think we can safely put it at buying Reddit coins.

Mastodon is an awesome name. Calling their tweets "toots" however...

in a world where luxuries must be paid for

...who is forcing them to buy Reddit coins? lol

I've been able to screenshare with flatpak Discord on KDE Wayland, without sound (same as X). 8 months ago a Discord dev said "Linux users will see audio sharing supported when we upgrade webrtc and are able to find the time to hook it up to pipewire". You might be thinking of PTT not working when the Discord window isn't focused, some workarounds exist for that.

I used to as well and it always caused issues. AUR packages are not designed to be used with Manjaro packages, stuff can break and updates get funky. That's why Manjaro disables it by default.

It's kind of like I have gmail and you have protonmail but we can still send emails to each other. Conversely emails from "@nigerianprince.com" will probably get spam filtered or blocked and you may not be able to communicate with them.

I ran Manjaro for a year or so. It works well and the default theming looks great but I don't really see a point to the distro really. It's basically just Arch from a couple weeks ago with no AUR support.
