All games on Steam use Steams DRM, I would have thought.

Is it just me or is that graph all fucked up?

It’s the equivalent of a fidget toy. Keeps the noisy part of your brain busy so you can get stuff done.

Made the jump to Bazzite.

Working out pretty well so far!

Only complaint at this point is the desktop system blocks unfocused windows from capturing keypresses. (A sensible security measure).
But it prevents Discord from picking up my PTT keybind when not in a full screen game.

I have the curved ultrawide monitor and it's not something I'd recommend anyone buy.

The problems are numerous;

  • The software is more Smart TV than monitor. There's a bunch of connectivity I don't want. (BT, WiFi, etc).
  • Trying to manually select my PC from all the 'channels' is a 3-4 button press affair. For something that I do almost every work day when it should be automatic, it's quite frustrating. It does auto-switch to Thunderbolt for my work laptop easily, though. But I can't leave the laptop plugged in or it will switch to it from my PC whenever the laptop wakes up.
  • We have a Samsung TV in the living room and at least once a week, my partner turns off the TV and my monitor at the same time.
  • There are a lot of issues with the monitor going to sleep and not waking up properly (The internet is packed with complaints). You have to restart your PC to get it to wake.
  • You can't just mute the monitor. There will be a constant on-screen indicator that the monitor is muted. So you leave the volume at 1.

Hardware-wise things aren't all rosey either.

  • The ports on the monitor are micro-HDMI and DP, so new cables for you.
  • The subpixel layout (on this monitor at least) leads to blurry text with coloured halos.

Glad my job paid for this, not me.

The graph is a unidirectional loop. Right connects to the left, but not the other way around.

New heavy barrage sounds is pretty legit

I’m looking to leverage the Thunderbolt port on my desktop to get more USB ports.

Looking around and most Thunderbolt hubs are for laptops and have hdmi and Ethernet and such that I don’t really want.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a simple hub?

Some Type-a and c ports world be lovely.

Evening focus (sh.itjust.works)

Greetings!

I was diagnosed a few months back and I’ve gotten on Vyvance 20mg to great effect. I’m not perfect, but much better.

However I do find that my focus wanes in the evening when I want to kick back and practice a hobby like drawing or music, I can’t sit down and just do it.

If anyone has advice or experience that might help, I’d be very grateful.

I have a 5-6 year old bonsai that I think needs a hard prune.

Any advice?

Hail! The makerspace I go to needs some parts for their lathe. The gearbox for the leadscrew has given out and we need to source some replacements.

Anyone in know where to look? We are located in Canada.

Been drawing for like 6 months. Done on Procreate
