Ehh, I've still had critters get in. We don't have a permanent patch, so we didn't bury the chicken wire, so things went under - even when it was staked down pretty well.

We have also had (presumably) animals go over the top and bend the whole fence inwards just to get in. ¯\(ツ)

It does look similar. Honestly, I'm not much of a pepper person - I grew some seeds as both a challenge to myself, and for the family to have a kind of pepper they like. Can I grow them? Yes. Should I grow them? This time was also yes 😋

Thanks for the tip about the tinfoil - between that and a slug trap, it seems like the damage should at least be mostly mitigated.

Something has been eating the leaves, but the plant is doing really well! This came from a seed from a pepper from the store - it was labeled as either an "ancient" or a "twisty" pepper.

This is the biggest pepper on the biggest plant and is around 6 inches long! (all I had with me for scale was my hand, but later remembered that none of you know how big my hand is 😋) It's in one of the half-barrel sized planters with another of the same kind, and 2 tabasco pepper plants.

Speaking of "deer crossing" - I was told there was a group of 3 deer in the street in front of our house, earlier in the morning!

It's a residential street that's hard to go fast on, so we don't have a "deer x-ing" sign.

Yeah, and sadly with kids in the neighborhood, I'd hate to be responsible for a Lyme disease outbreak or something like that 😅

Young deer, tried stopping by my lilies for a snack! I took this picture through the window but accidentally left the flash on from the last pic taken... This is the moment the deer noticed me - it didn't bolt until I started opening the door! (and it didn't seem to get any of the lilies... this time)

What I think it is, is that every single person who ever consumes it, will eventually die. We are also literally dependant on it. If you stop ingesting it for too long, it can also cause you to die... That's how it went around here, at least.

Does he think that you think that he is grass/greenery/(what is that, sedum?)? Silly snek.

I'm pretty sure it's a "dot com", although I could be wrong. It currently has 6 open flowers, and I'd love to cut it, but after seeing a hummingbird drinking from it I've been holding off.

That and the smell of burnt toast, I think...

I learned how to crochet from my grandma as a kid (like, kindergarten or earlier) and she taught me to hold my yarn with my left. Learning to knit, someone was trying to teach me to hold it in my right hand and I struggled sooo much! Went back to holding yarn in my left hand and knitting wasn't a problem at all. Still, 10 years of knitting later, I can't hold it in my right ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I didn't even know it was a thing that people did, but I knew it was the only way I could seem to hold yarn and needles at the same time.
