My parents bought me a new phone (to replace my aging brick) as a celebration gift for graduating as computer engineer.

But the damn thing does not have neither a MicroSD slot or headphone jack.

WHY DO YOU MOCK ME OH LORD???

It's the future, and phones have minimal holes. Wired USB-C headphones do exist, but the solution to storage space has largely trended towards "well have you considered the ☁️ cloud ☁️ ?"

Frankly I'm just glad USB still exists at all on phones. I suspect eventually that, too, will begin to disappear in favor of "haha well we have wireless charging.... What, connect your phone to a computer? Attach a peripheral? Why would you ever want any of that??"

It's getting increasingly difficult to find those features on new phones.

You can get an adapter that plugs into your charge port and offers a headphone port

That sounds really cool!

But i'm old fashioned, so i'd rather have the convenience of a direct port.

But thanks anyway :)

It's unfortunately the future of cell phones. I've begun carrying around a Hidizs media player, to listen to my tunes on.
