Gross? Practical for the dairy? Fine for all occasions? What say we?

Bonus question, socks with jandals anywhere?

A classic German style.

Probably fine but I do not recommend it at the beach. Nothing worse than wet socks.

I wouldn't do it in summer, but acceptable in winter. I would go with black socks if you're wearing your business jandals.

Are black business socks that have dinosaurs or dogs or whatever on them acceptable? Normally the pattern would not be visible but in this case they would be.

I guess it depends on who you’re doing business with! Most people wouldn’t mind a little flair.

I would probably stick to the tried and true black socks black jandals combo for any serious meetings.

Yeah that's fair. It's best to stick to black when in a corporate environment.

Gotta keep those promotion chances alive.

I've worn black socks with black crocs and I wear sneakers with jeans which is apparently another no-no so I'm probably not allowed an opinion, lol.

I don't get socks with jandals unless they're toe socks, there's no gap for the bit between your toes?

OP is talking about sandals though.

Jandals was the bonus question.

Having lived half my life in the UK and the other half in NZ I'd say the socks combo looks way more acceptable here, maybe I've got that skewed?

Bedsocks with jandals is where its at.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

You know when I'm down to just my socks, it's business time. That's why they call them business socks.

There's no twist here. Bed socks are socks you wear to bed. Usually super thick and warm.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Huh, I'd never heard of them before.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Depends on the socks.

Rome conquered a huge swathe of territory while wearing socks with their sandals.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Why the hell not. Don't let other fear of other people's judgement prevent you from doing whatever makes you happy.

If it's what you want and it's not hurting anyone's else, go for it.

Some people will judge you for it, but this is true of any choice. Since crocs (with socks) has become pretty common, I'd say socks and jandals are fair game pretty much anywhere so long as it's practical (probably not acceptable on a building site, unless wearing steel capped socks).

I'm in the UK and my Scottish grandad rocked the socks and sandals look to his grave (not literally). And this is a man who spent some of his life working in North African countries.

My wife wouldn't let me leave the house in socks and sandals if I wanted to (which I don't at all) so maybe it's a generation thing. Isn't the point of sandals to get the air on the bare skin on your feet?

Socks and sandals is kind of an inbetween. Too cold for sandals and too hot for sneakers.

Makes sense for Scotland
