Sex Ed and teaching about consent is about the most reliable way to prevent kids being sexually abused - I wonder why the Catholic Church would resist that kind of thing.

Yeah, the irony is pretty strong in this. How about they start with teaching their "morality" to all the child-abusing priests out there?

I'm no statistician, but I'm willing to bet that the number of people with lifelong trauma after being sexually abused by the priests they trusted far outnumbers the number of people who have lifelong trauma as a result of having sex before marriage.
