$200 one time to completely replace someone as an actor.

Now think about all the other workers in industries WITHOUT union backing. They will have no recourse, and will simply be replaced.

We all live in interesting times, unfortunately....

"Here's $200 in exchange for you never working in this way again."

What a deal...

Need a legal framework that ensures a likeness can only be used with a subscription fee.

I mean, we aren't allowed to own most of the stuff we buy now, should they be allowed to own us?

Cooperations can not be trusted. We have learned this time and time again. They only care about their stockholders at best and only the CEO at worst. Regulations must be put into place or they will continue to do more and more at the expense of everyone else. If you haven’t learned this by now, you are one of the problems.

So, the’War on Labour’ has now reached the higher echelons of Hollywood, I see.

No different than WalMart screwing its staff over, IMO.

This is beyond stupid. The cost it would take to create and model enough data to properly recreate an deep learning extra is WELL beyond what it would be to just use an off the shelf VFX created one. They have been using them since the matrix and the technology was well advanced since then.

This is all messed up and I’m sure other commenters got something good to say about this, but I still have about the last 10 years of series to watch, so I’ll survive, having seen only a fraction of all the series.

But Hollywood should do normal.
