Beans all the way down.

Ugh, that's sooo annoying! I hope the content improves soon. If we work hard at it we can finally make it close to 100% beans by October.

The other half is how many accounts/posts/users Lemmy has

I enjoy the posts complaining about how much people are still talking about reddit.

I’ve found my Reddit activity to have plunged since discovering Lemmy. I mostly check Reddit now for niche subs that don’t have an equivalent yet.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Same.. Lemmy is pretty great. But I wish the UX would be better here..

Wow! What a spike 🚀

My experience is also that people are quite active - and surprisingly accommodating and positive. In fact, I actually want to participate in the discussions.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

Can’t agree with you more. Have had proper discussions on here and support for finding the quirks. It’s a much more pleasant place to visit and contribute. Thank-you to you all!

Positive? POSITIVE!? Oh yeah, buddy?

WELL YOU JUST HAVE A NICE DAY AND I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS!

PLEASE DON'T ENTERTAIN ME WITH YOUR NICE JOKES!

SERIOUSLY. THIS GUY.

Is this a waterfall total cumulative posts or is this unique posted per day? It looks like overall total

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 year ago (2 children)

The title suggests per day to me but the graph I'm quite sure is cumulative based on other data

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

There are dips

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Changing the ops data to monthly gives the same graph so I assume it's the total number of posts on active servers that day/month

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Cumulative would imply monotonously non-decreasing.

There are dips in the curve, so can’t be cumulative.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The only dips i see are recent and its so tiny its hard to see. It could be from people erasing their posts or people getting their posts banned and removong from overall total

that's weak argument - this isn't calculus class, it is real world data. real world data have inaccuracies, some post might have been deleted or otherwise unaccounted for, or something else might have happened.

pretty sure it is cumulative - 1 million posts per day would be totally absurd number

Good stuff! Glad to see it’s still increasing now after Reddit’s pulled the plug on 3rd party apps and protests have quieted down.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Does this include bot-posts like from lemmit.online? I feel like these would skew the numbers quite a bit.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

II think the same. He should be filtered.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

At this point who cares. Even the perception of things increasing will help get people's attention and get them to try it out

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Daaang, nice! Commenting just to add to the stats.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

Truly beautiful

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I write this to contribute. thank you.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

Same.

Thanks

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I hopw lemmy starts to catch on more and more!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

to infinity and beyond

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Exciting to see! Hopefully we start to get some network effects, and start seeing communities pop up from the different parts of the internet.

One of the things I quite like about Lemmy is that a group can host their own community, and for folks who are concerned about what happened at Reddit or otherwise, the fediverse/decentralized model allows them a high degree of control, while at the same time connecting them through an entire network of people to discover them. It's pretty exciting to see this.

I'm upvoting a lot more on Lemmy than I used to on Reddit. Having a much better time here than I anticipated. Enough content to switch platforms.

Keep on growing little friend.

What happened around the 20th? That’s rise in number of posts is unreal!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's probably when RIF started recommending people migrate

We should hope there’s a growth that goes hand to hand with quality. Ad maiora, Lemmy!
