But I am not fine with ads. Ever since I installed the first adblocker many years ago I have made it my personal mission to never see any ads during my daily browsing habits, and that is my right. I don’t owe corporations time of my life to watch some crappy product I will not buy on principle anyway now. If their company is not sustainable without showing me loads and loads of bullshit their company should go bankrupt. If the fediverse has taught me anything it is that no tech giant offers anything of substantial value, if they all went bankrupt tomorrow the world moves on and we spin up a replacement service.

But I'm not fine watching 1 ad per video. And no, I'm also not fine paying for a bunch of fragmented streaming services and a bunch of other subscriptioms on top of that.
Give me just one streaming platform with a reasonable price and with everything on it and I'll pay again. Would be nice if it was YouTube. That'll never happen. So: AdBlocker, as long as that works. And sail the high seas for other content.
Just a little reminder that one of the major reasons Reddit got so bad, was the influx of new users thinking the downvote button was a 'disagree button' This is a genuine question and shouldn't be downvoted into oblivion, it should be upvoted so that people can see that it's wrong
Even ignoring the fact that adds are annoying, they exist to sell you things. If a bot watches an add and never buys anything then the value of a view/interaction goes down. No one benefits from having bots watch adds it's just a waste of power.
