Not much progress around here in the past week, and I'm losing momentum... So, to avoid the very real danger of giving up before this sweater gets both its sleeves: Here I am, starting my magic loop, two-at-a-time, top-down sleeves. These are a lot of firsts for me, and I might be a little terrified :D

What a gorgeous colour! Good luck with the sleeves, and think how smug you'll feel when you put it on and both sleeves are exactly the same length.

ANOTHER double knit Halloween scarf (because twins πŸ‘«)

I hope it doesn't have a deadline of this Halloween 😱

I already warned my daughter if she insists on double knit scarf instead of a loop, that it may not be done in time for Halloween. 🀣🫠

Wow, that's even more gorgeous than the first one!

Don't give it up, that colour yarn is going to make such a cozy jumper.

Love the look of that yarn! Two at a time sleeves are the only way I’ve ever made sleeves, otherwise I’d end up with one-sleeved sweaters.

Ooh that's so fancy! I managed a pair of socks TAAT once, but kept getting everything tangled and at one point somehow managed to knit both socks inside out for like 2cm before realising. Suffice to say I've not tried it sinceπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Never even thought of using the technique for sleeves though. It makes so much sense! No guesswork on length, no second sleeve syndrome, definitely sounds like the smart choice πŸ˜„

Progress on my second Halloween sock continues this week, I spent last Wednesday night knitting on it in the hospital while waiting for my other half to come out of surgery so there's a sort of wobbly bit on the cables down each side where I lost concentration, but it'll be a reminder of how grateful I am that everything went ok.

Half-knitted socks look pretty weird but hopefully you get the idea, I've just turned the heel and am about to pick up stitches for the gusset!

I also have completed my Justyna Jumper but still need to block it, so hopefully I can convince myself to do that tonight and can share better photos soon.

You're perfectly right about the imperfections, our knitting is an unintentional diary. Glad that everything went well.

Beautiful jumper! It gives some (very) remote Elizabethan vibes, doesn't it?

You know, I read this comment and thought "wtf is weirdsquid talking about", and then I took another look at the photo. It totally does! πŸ˜†

Idea is that there'll be a bit more ease once it's blocked but...er...I did not convince myself to do that last night.

Looks gorgeous! You got this! Knitting sleeves TAAT in magic loop is my preferred method for sweaters. It might take a bit, but you'll end up with perfect length sleeves and when you're done, you can wear it immediately!

@[email protected], @MrsDoyle, @CutexKitty, thank you so much for the good vibes and TAAT appreciation! The truth is, that I already frogged and restarted once because (a) I created huge ladders and (b) I split the sleeves at the wrong place, so I couldn't work my decreases properly. And I really need to think carefully about what goes where when I put the work down and pick it up again. Definitely not going to watch TV while working on this one, lol
