I made a folder with my fav lemmy apps that I tried so far, and they are sorted by favorite to less favorite. By far, wefwef is my most used and I do switch to lifoff sometimes. Also, the official lemmy app is really not bad compared to reddit's official app. I would say try all of them and see which one works the best for you. waiting for sync and boost to launch. let me know if you have any other suggestions I haven't tried yet.

+1 for Thunder, extremely fast loading times and great UI. It hasn't crashed on me either, just some timeouts.

There is no official lemmy app?

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Since Lemmy is not a single entity but a group of people hosting the servers, there is not official app.

Your question is similar to "There is no official email app?".

There are hosts like Outlook and Gmail. Similarly, Lemmy.ml and Lemmy.world would be the equivalent. While outlook and Gmail have their own apps, individual instances rely on third party apps like Jerboa, Liftoff, etc. for mobile users.

Brah i get how it works. I was thrown off by the post calling one of those apps the offical app. Make your speech to op not me.

Jeroba is developed by the Lemmy devs, but I don't think they consider it "official"

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Jerboa is the Official one because it is developed by lemmy developer...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

No, and it's unlikely there ever will be. Jerboa is the closest thing as it's a project by one of the main Lemmy devs.

Game changer for me, been using it for like 2+ years now!

I've been liking Wefwef too, but does anyone else have the problem that you can't view the list of your own posts in your account? Or is that something that broke on the instance my account is on?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

This is not a problem for me, in fact I can see your post list too.

Memmy is under active development, TestFlight for iOS. Posting from it now. Not half bad.

[email protected]

This is an Android community and that's an iOS only app I believe.

[–] lchapman 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hey, at this stage, who knows whether any of these new apps will end up being cross-platform.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Good point! I hope they all are. That would be cool!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah Memmy is great for iOS. Mlem is another good one to try out. It’s coming along nicely.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Now that the latest update has comments sorting, it's perfect!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I have tried many of the IOS apps and Memmy is 100% the best choice. No problems whatsoever and reminds me so much of Apollo.

Connect for Lemmy is way better then Jerboa which is a buggy mess imo

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Btw, did I understand it correctly that Lemmotif is only read-only and you can't even select an instance/communities?

At least I couldn't find any options.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's correct.. not sure if it is coming, but that app looks great so far.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Ok, then it's not only me. Leitmotif is easily the best looking of the bunch, but if it's read-only and I can't even customize what content it's showing me, it's sadly pretty much unusable right now.

I hope, they are going to make it fully-featured.

Lemmotif is CLEAN! But there is no way to log in, right?
