Scientific papers are too complicated generally with their vocab and I've trawled through lots of like social media posts and wedmd/live strong type posts.

The Mayo Clinic has a great Q & A on stuff that I've read in scientific articles.

Basically:

  • shift your circadian rhythm
  • expose yourself to bright light before/during your shift (an article mentioned 4 hours were done in their study resulting an increase in alertness).
  • shades during the day when you're done with work
  • darken your room or wear a sleep mask
  • lower core body temp for better sleep
