Diversity is a huge strength of Linux. We should encourage users to use whatever works for them.
As much as I agree that it's super nice with all these different flavours. It does make it more difficult for beginners to understand the eco system.
It's all good, diversity and shit... until somebody asks "How do I install Kali Linux for daily driving?"
Reminds me of when I was looking up an issue for Kali Linux and saw like 10 different reddit threads, all full of “don’t use Kali Linux unless you know how to use it”. Which was very helpful when I had to use it for my coursework.
Side note: the most downvoted comment contained actual advice that fixed my problem.
The strangest choice I've seen for a daily driver is I had a friend who used Knoppix as his daily driver. He started using it on a thumb drive when his computer died, so he just used a thumb drive and random borrowed computers for a while, after getting used to it he transfered the install to his new laptop when he got it.
That's beyond bad taste and into active stupidity.
I sure hope you posted this from a distro that I like, if not then there may be consequences.

Mint with Cinnamon here. It just works. I maybe google how to troubleshoot something once per week max 👌

Mint is a fantastic distro. I had good luck with it.
I use Arch btw but got into Linux with Mint and I'm glad I did. Really solid distro!
All that matters is that you're on linux, unless you use gnome.
Back in 2007 a Linux user wished on a monkey's paw that Linux would be the most popular operating system in regular use, and then Android was unveiled.

Maybe it was only said as a meme, but, I like gnome quite a lot. I find it about 10x less annoying than W10/W11 and 7x less annoying than MacOS. What else should I be taking a look at though?

Shaming people for using Ubuntu or other “easy” distros is how you prevent people from joining the community long term. We’d be better served by being welcoming and understanding of people

Aaah, unless and as long as I use vannila Ubuntu + GNOME combo.
But it’s not cool unless you know how to install arch (doesn’t mention that there’s literally a script that does it for you)
Absolutely, I'm using MX and people I know use Ubuntu or Arch and we all don't care
