Apologies for being the bearer of bad news. "6 hours ago" means roughly 6-7pm Eastern on April 30, 2025. I have no further information; I only know because I was going to visit the wiki and . . . apparently now I'm not.

It's under "Guides & Search Engines" in the Software section of the megathread, should anyone with rights care to update.

From search : GenP is a tool that allows you to medicine Adobe apps on Windows 10 and 11

[–] [email protected] 98 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

to medicine > to crack

You'd download legit trial versions of adobe shit and use GenP to disable the trial and call home functionalities. Brilliant bit of kit before I moved to Linux.

I run photoshop in wine just fine ;)

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

What version do you run?👀👀

[–] [email protected] 20 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

CC 2021 (I know the URL says 22, but it provides both options and 22 allegedly is less stable)

Did you know that google paid wine to make cs2 run properly?

Google later paid for improvements to Wine's support for Adobe Photoshop CS2.[27] Wine is also a regular beneficiary of Google's Summer of Code program.[28]

Yeah odd but on GitHub there is mention of pill 💊, either loss in translation or lingo https://github.com/wangzhenjjcn/AdobeGenp/releases

It's just an euphemism, "DRM / License check" = "disease".

[–] [email protected] 14 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

So to medicine is like to download lots of Linux ISOs, sometimes.

Imagine using Adobe. Being bled dry.

Imagine ~~using~~ paying Adobe. Being bled dry.

Using it at all, even pirated, means becoming contaminated on some level with Adobe paradigms and makes more people more likely to eventually hand Adobe more money because "it's what I'm used to".

At least pirate something that isn't so disgusting, like Affinity, if you simply must use corpo software.

Or, you know, "stay hungry" and keep learning new UI & methods to achieve your target results. Not everyone's a spoonfed moron, but I do agree with your pointing out that Adobe is merely following suit in the age-old "first time's free" routine.

For reasons that should be crystal clear at this point to anyone with half a brain, Crapple "gave" millions of their candy-colored shitboxes to schools around the country throughout the 90s, and look at 'em now. 🤮

Don't shame the consumer, fellow citizen. You're just as much profit fodder as the rest of us.

violating Reddits copyright policy

This is coming to all the piracy and grey areas of reddit

[–] [email protected] 20 points 3 weeks ago

We welcome their refugees. Many of them, at least.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah. I'm really surprised that r/piracy is still up. I would have guessed that that sub would be killed firstly as it's one of the biggest.

New to Lemmy. Can you explain what this means?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago

So, since lemmy is comprised of many servers, links on dbzer0 won't work for me, on lemm.ee .

This link will link to any server's copy of the community.

[–] hyderite 2 points 3 weeks ago

Alright, thanks :)

[–] [email protected] 25 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

they should come over here to the bright side lemmy

Nobody is surprised. But it is sad news nonetheless.
