I believe this list includes companies that TRIED to roll back their DEI initiatives, but we're thwarted by shareholders. I think that's an important data point here.

For companies of this scale, they are essentially machines. There’s no empathy, no real “thought” behind any of their actions, just taking the path to optimize profit.

Virtue-signaling is the best you can expect from large companies.

Some of them didn't even virtue signal, they attempted to revoke DEI practices but since they're public companies it went to vote among shareholders and lost.

If your list of “good” companies includes JP Morgan and Coca fucking Cola then you aren’t “fighting for progress.” Jesus fucking Christ.

It's the classic trick of making the ruling class seem divided and inviting people to take sides in the 'conflict' within it.

Fighting for progress means tearing down these companies.

We must support Coca-Cola, Apple and JP Morgan to fight for progress

Seriously. This list is an embarrassment.

Obligatory Coca-Cola produces $3 Billion USD of Cocaine annually, used in things such as the manufacture of Opioids.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Why doesn't Trump consider Coca-Cola a cartel?

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

An only slightly less jokey answer is that Opioids are legal prescription drugs in the USA as the manufacturers were able to convince legislators that the slow-release composition of the drug molecules were less addictive than regular opiates. Turns out they are addictive, and the Sachlers deserve every misfortune for ten generations. Several times, bills have been introduced to punish them for the transgressions, but so far they've only been made to pay billions in settlements.

Trader Joe's is a hard one because they are vehemently anti-union.

They joined musk and Bezos in suing to have NLRB declared unconstitutional. I haven't shopped there in over a year after reading that, was a 20-year customer.

Fuck traitor joes.

REI didn't join the suit but changed their legal firm to the same one representing these fine companies. Actions always louder than words.

Aetna CVS Caremark is the biggest enemy there is to pharmacists everywhere. No thanks.

don't mean to rain on anyone's parade but:

Coca-Cola, PepsiCo Planning to Comply With Trump’s DEI Policy

also coca-cola ceo is besties with trump

anyway support arizona iced tea instead.

also keurig dr pepper, who have a&w root beer, 7up, and schweppes - they're still devoted to dei and positive ethical impact too.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago

Wasn't Tim Cook sitting behind Trump at his inauguration?

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

Didn't Coke report their own employees to ICE?

[–] thesmokingman 7 points 1 month ago

CVS, like Walgreens, allows its pharmacists to do whatever the hell they want eg not distribute necessary meds. Their inclusion here is and always has been performative.

don’t forget that apple, coca-cola and unilever (who owns ben & jerry’s) are complicit in the Palestinian genocide

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Ben & Jerry's is owned by Unilever.
