Y'all are doing really great work, and so goddamned quickly too. Jerboa won't even let me log in, much less navigate this easily.
Liftoff!
A mobile client for Lemmy running on iOS and Android
I was eager to try out Liftoff but unfortunately I can't seem to log in on it :/
I noticed my password contains a space in the middle and I always get an "invalid password" error.
I didn't try yet to change the password and try again but I suspect the password field when you login might not like a space in it.
In any case, if I can check if the password is really the issue, I will try to create a proper bug report on the git repository or something.
Thanks for the hard work ! It makes me happy to see devs embracing Lemmy and trying to make the best out of a pretty sad situation with reddit.
Oh you might be on to something. There was a similar bug report but we thought it was their password length. It might be spaces. I'll take a lol. Thanks!
Your app is awesome, many thanks. I'm missing only the possibility to change the main color, otherwise it has aöready everything I need.
I keep getting a message like this whenever I try to interact with or subscribe to a community outside of lemmy.world. I'm easily able to do this in other apps like Thunder. What do I need to do differently? "This thread was retrieved via lemmy.ml. You are not logged in there."
Everyone says Liftoff is one of the best apps but I find it unusable as I can't interact with any other federation.
If you're using the everything view from the home feed then you're going to get posts that you might not be federated with, an aggregate of any instances you've added to the app.
We're working through tweaking this view and making it smarter to be able to support that interaction. Also I'm not sure thunder actually can do that because im thunder you're seeing comments/posts that are "outside" of lemmy.world but you're accessing them through lemmy.worlds federation.
Long story short if you want it to work like thunder, just use the Lemmy.world -> all feed on the home tab and you'll still see those posts that are "outside" you'll just be seeing them through Lemmy.worlds federation
Thanks for explaining that! For some reason this didn't click for me.
Any plans to add comment collapsing? Sorry, I'm new to the app, play store installed
Edit: jk, figured it out. Press and hold
Tap to collapse will be in the next release
I can easily see this becoming my new time sink once Boost dies in two days! Loving the app so far, very very impressive for such an early version. One thing I'd love to see (correct me if this is already possible) is having the refresh not only available at the top of the page. Having to scroll up for half a minute just to refresh is a bit tedious :D
Yes this is coming!
Much appreciated :)
I didn't see it on your list, but communities I have blocked are showing up on the frontpage when I have "all" selected.
Just installed the app via the playstore. I needed to use the website to be able to access it.
BTW, rating can't be correct:
Content rating
PEGI 18 • Extreme violence
I like how you can add multiple accounts and get an overview of all the subscribed channels in 1 view. Posting seems to be an issue yet, at least here with multiple acocunts. (probably pebkac issue, as it's less then an hour on the device)
This I'm sure is due to the fact that people can upload nsfw posts, even though it can be moderated.
Would love support here if any one has experience with the play store in this area
Cool app, just got it for Android. I'm having issues adding an instance though: !lemmy.eco.br
Are any iOS users having some serious performance issues with Liftoff? I’ve tried both TestFlight versions and no matter what settings I use, Liftoff feels very sluggish.
Do we have any notification of getting replies yet?
Using oled dark if that makes a difference
Push notifications are on our to-do list
I meant a notification in app, like a number next to the bell or it just changing colour.
Will you implement UnifiedPush?
Yeah that's on my list. We'll have to implement something for iOS also so we're taking this enhancement slow.
Just installed it and loving it so far, it's great that we're getting options now.
Love the new update! Are you guys considering adding post/comment text size adjustment as well (rather than just title/header)?
eta: It would also be great to be able to see the bottom navigation when viewing an instance/community page. The little autocorrect bubble is a bit wonky when writing comments as well.
Yes please! came here to say the same thing. Default comments are a little too small
This is great work! Thank you so much for putting this together so quickly!
Do you plan to offer the option for tap to collapse comment rather than press& hold to collapse?
Are you gonna intergrate kbin ?
Everyday it gets harder to pick a lemmy app to use that isn't Jerboa. Lmfao. This is great! Atm im between this and Thunder.
I do have one issue i see wasn't fixed, but i believe someone has mentioned it. Which is I cannot see content if i go directly to an NSFW sub. It acts like there isnt anything there, but i know I'm able to as I can see it in the everything feed and subscribed feed.
There's a few bugs around NSFW, I hadn't gotten to those yet but I will!
Coming from Apollo (RIP and o7,) I love this app so far!
Love the app! One issue I'm having that is keeping me hopping back and forth between apps is download links don't work for me in the integrated browser. Could you possibly add the option to open in external browser?
Yes that PR is open and this functionality will be in the next release
Just installed the app and really like it so far. Keep up the great work!
I'd love to see the ability to hide read posts. I'm coming from baconreader and loved that feature.
Amazing app, are there plans to change the accent color from teal to something else? Also any chance we can get material you themes in the future?
Yes this is planned
My most awaited feature is for the download button to work. Liftoff is miles ahead of the other lemmy apps, if that button worked it would be feature complete at least as far as I know how to use it.
We have a contributor working on that!
Why can't I upvote and comment from other instances? I couldn't comment on the app but I am doing it on wefwef.app website right now, so if should be possible.
