Ok ok but I'm been thinking for awhile and this is the first time I've had an excuse to say it * flamesuit on *:

If you start at Violent Femmes and draw a straight line to Coldplay, you have to pass through Radiohead.

Been saying that for years. Same for Muse, although they took after different parts of Radiohead's ouvre. Never really felt anyone huge corresponded to the Kid A/Amnesiac stuff though. Nobody jumps out there.

That reminds me of a funny interview moment where some music journalist in the 2000’s asked Thom York, “So how to you respond to newer bands like Muse who are capitalizing on your sound?” And Thom goes, “Good luck with Kid A.”

Thom Yorke's media shenanigans in the 90s/early 00s are on par with Dylan in the 60s. Just clowning on them constantly.

Coldplay - radiohead lite.

Muse - radiohead heavy.

I know someone that would feel insulted by this

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

Oh? Is that chris marten by chance or maybe matt bellamy?

Do you know why they would feel insulted?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago

Absolutely. Coldplay has always been a "poor man's" Radiohead.

Kid A makes all the ballfarts worth it.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

For OK Computer, I'd keep them in forever and ever. Worth it!

that and accurately help people with their taxes and other menial, tedious tasks

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

well we already have answers for most of those, taxes in many countries outside the US are just something you get a paper from the state and you sign it to verify the numbers as accurate.

My wife's favorite band is Radiohead

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 weeks ago

TI(also)L: my wife has balls and they are in her butthole.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

Your wife has good taste.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

But Coldplay is already that!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

But Radiohead is like 7 years older? So confused, time travel?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago

Coldplay's music is so powerful, it inspired other bands before they even formed

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago
