I had my code run all the time while I coded up the solution for the second part, needless to say, it wouldn't finish.

Your original point aside, that curse could make someone immensely wealthy. Right? Look how much gold it created in like 30 seconds. Just cast it on something valuable, and then cleanse the curse after you have mountains of gold. Or does cleansing the curse remove all of the duplicates?

If I recall correctly they disappear after a while.

Ah, so it would have to be a quick scam. But thah wouldn't work since everyone in the magic world knows everyone else. Although it seems that they can be overtly evil and nobody will do anything, as long as they have money, so a quick scam might just work.
