My playlist will be the album Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band. In fact, maybe I'll just select my three favorites from that album, Ella Guru, Frownland, and Veterans' Day Poppy, and repeat them five times.

I'm in the mood to fuckin' piss some people off.

I'd love it but be annoyed that you didn't go for the whole thing, start to finish.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Oh my, it's melodeath day 🀘

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Probably the Book of Mormon original Broadway cast recording. But I'd have to cut out 1 song, that'd be difficult to choose which one.

  1. Sell these musical slots to artists for a few million apiece

  2. Profit

4'33" by John Cage repeated 15 times.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The audience HAS to actively listen to it? Like no talking over it and no interrupting with other noise?

I like this. Finally some peace and quiet.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Ohh yeah, they make one noise and we start again, I want half an hour minimum of silence from everyone, maybe they might look inside themselves and find the good person they're hiding or I'll get to not listen to people talk. Win win.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This is it. The day has come. This is my chance to rickroll the entire world in one go.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 21 hours ago

Ooh! Ooh! Combine this with the John Cage! Play 4'33" fourteen times, then Astley for the 15th track.

Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears repeated 14 times, with 1000 Miles by Vanessa Carlton tossed in once somewhere in the middle.

I imagine they’d feel like they were babysitting their good friend who was blackout drunk but still conscious and who said that β€œEverybody Wants to Rule the World” was a song that never fails to calm them down. All the while, they’d occasionally remember the feeling that they were doing a good thing by making sure their friend didn’t choke on their own vomit that kept reappearing every hour or so.

I listen to prog, so it'd be a looong playlist

For maximum hair-tearing insufferableness?

Baby Shark x14

My Pal Foot Foot x1

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There's a mall up in Montreal, Canada, playing babyshark on repeat in stairwells to prevent homeless people from staying there. So far it's been cruelly effective.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Egad, I read about that but forgot. Now that you mention, I'm sure that's how the idea popped in my head. How awful 😞 Now I almost feel bad for joking about it.

15 different renditions of Popcorn.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think you found the solution for world peace.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I remember reading about someone who listened to Popcorn for 24 hours and it had an effect on them.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Was the effect that he eventually popped?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago

Because I'm currently putting some effort to advance a story I'm working on and I have a playlist for miid setting, that would be it.

And it's mostly reggae, from the more classical to present day creation.

15 different versions of Baby Shark that my daughter has on repeat.

I imagine the world would react negatively.

Ram ranch, two trucks, alternating 7 times and then Alice’s restaurant once.

I believe this would result in a lot of mental breakdowns, and a newfound love of Arlo Guthrie.

Ram Ranch in the top 15 languages of the world

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Don't know how they'd react, but here's the list I'd go with based on what I've been recently addicted to:

Escape Route by Free The Jester

Tongue Tied by Free The Jester

Shapeshifter by Nothing Shameful

Selkirk by Nothing Shameful

And probably one more to round it off:

Casulty by The Nixon Rodeo.

If people aren't a fan of small no-name bands, they might not like these talented groups and their songs, but I'm sure there are people out there who would absolutely love these indie(?) selections. I swear small no-name unrecognized bands have some of the best music.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wait a minute. Is the lead vocals of Free The Jester the same Lead Singer of Not Green Day?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

No clue. Would have to look it up, which I'm gonna do because you got me curious.

Edit:

From a quick search, definitely seems like they might be. Never heard of Not Green Day, though. Crazy stuff if it's true.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

I highly recommend going to see Not.GreenDay if they have a show near you. I saw them this year and they definitely sound like the OG GreenDay. They also did a good job of getting the crowd involved and in high spirits.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

They'd think I came from an alternate universe. Video game soundtracks and some songs I made alongside some lostwave. The video game songs don't sound like they're from a game, and the rest are things they'd be unfamiliar with.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Because I wouldn't want people to kill me after the 24 hours is over... I would go with the Pink Floyd album, Meddle, mostly for Echoes (six tracks). Then the Jean-Michel Jarre album, Oxygène (another six). Then some good trip-hop tracks for something to move to.
Maybe Supreme Beings of Leisure, Ghetto. Moloko, Fun for Me. Morcheeba, Blood Like Lemonade.
