then am greeted by the 403 page, saying that the
item not available
the item is not available due to issues with the item's content.
even the newly uploaded items
I thought everything in the archive was still in read only mode?

Looks like the system is still messed up. At least I can't upload, but looking at your comment you could recently. Can't even put things to favorites at the moment. So not surprised that you cannot edit anything.
