Obvious answer for me is the Midnight. They definitely can be a bit over the top at times.
I'm a big fan of Starcadian.
Perturbator, VHS Glitch, and on the more chiptune/metal side but still synth: Master Boot Record.
If you like darksynth, Perturbator. His Dangerous Days album slaps.
Mr.Kitty’s Ephemeral album is one of my favorite electronic albums of all time.

I'm also a big fan of Erang (he mostly makes Dungeon Synth music, but he's got a couple of synthwave albums, namely Anti Future and Songs of Scars
I really like Kavinsky's latest album Reborn, specifically the song Pulsar.
Second for Reborn. It's solid front to back. I'm a big fan of the Zenith, Vigilante, Zombie stretch from the album.
