Oh, this won’t end badly at all.

It seems like it's aimed at people who would have terrible outcomes without it, e.g. terminal diseases that can be cured but for more money than a person can afford. Unfortunately, an unregulated diy pharmacy looks a lot better than current systems to many people. There's a ton of risk in this, but desperate people will find that risk acceptable.

Cant be any worse than it already is

I highly suggest you look at the history of medicine leading up to and into late 1800s and early 1900s

There’s a reason why we have regulations, and those reasons are horrifying.

This movement isn't suggesting we do away with regulation. It is providing options for people who literally have NO access to life changing medication because of the for-profit pharmaceutical industry.

I know, but the risk of injury is so high, and the history of medical snake-oil salesmen exploiting the desperate is long and bloody.

This is like letting people build shanty-towns to deal with the housing shortage: it helps in the short-term, but the chance or harm is huge and it takes energy away from dealing with the real issue.

I actually think this is bringing an enormous amount of attention to the issue, especially once this group goes to court/jail for it. Where else should this energy be spent? This isn't a new issue and it's only got worse over time. I think extreme measures are warranted.

Worse than not being able to afford your own lifesaving treatment? I doubt that.

Has anyone actually built/tried any of their designs? I'd like to know more and perhaps get involved.

After having read the story, read through some of the website (I haven't watched any of the videos yet), and checked into the GitHub repos, the answer is "Yes. Yes, I would."
