I searched for the quote to find it because I, too, was curious. This is from I Saw the TV Glow, a 2024 film.
My sleuthing suggests I Saw the TV Glow (2024).
I wish I had taken the warnings. I thought I was going to be okay, but then there's that panning shot and "There is still time" and I fucking broke.
My heart is like a claw machine
Its only function is to reach
It can't hold on to anything
EDIT: If you haven't done so yet, do yourself a favor and listen to the official soundtrack. King Woman is now one of my favorite bands thanks to that album. The quote is from the Sloppy Jane track which is one of the most quotable songs I have heard in a long time.
THE SOUNDTRACK IS SO GOOD!! After seeing the movie the first time I just dragged the whole thing into my playlist. That quote in particular is a fav of mine as well!
It's always the wrong thing
when it's me who's saying it.
So many great lines in that song.
Kickass film. Pacing was a lil wack but where else are you gonna see stories like that? Really well done
Ok ok ok, so the trailer looks cool and scary, the messages apparently is brought messy and it has 5.9 on imdb. Is it gonna be worth my time? Only one way to find out!
Honnestly I was a little bit disapointed cause when I went to see it to the movie theater, I was in the mood for a scary movie. Like typical horror stuff. There is some "scary" passages, but it's no It. So don't expect to be full on frightened or to have big jump scares.
However I think it is a movie worth checking out. The acting is on point, the images are vibrant, overall greatly directed. Obviously the movie is a big metaphor, but I went to see it completely blind and I understood pretty easily what it was all about. I'm kind of surprised by the score on IMDB because it has a 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and I just heard nice things about this movie beforehand. It brought a tear to my eye even though I am not in the same situation as the protagonist.
Wow! Thanks for the long, unexpected, answer!
