I was thinking it was the one you bang out when you know you’re going to die soon.
Your mom was yelling out for God last night when I gave her a Jesus nut.
She’s already residing in his kingdom… you might want a wet-nap or something else to clean up.
That fucker is chewed UP. Hopefully it didn’t go back on aircraft after removal.
We were planning to update the avionics package and put it back in service for another 20 years
The one in the picture is in pretty good shape. It is just a retaining bolt. It is not holding the torque of the tail rotor, just preventing it/them (some helicopters have multiple paddles) from backing off the tail rotor drive shaft. The teeth on the nut are to prevent the jesus nut itself from backing off its bolt.
In Finnish there's a similar term, kuningaspultti or king bolt. Used for things like bolt retaining timing gear on a crank shaft of an engine.
How about other languages?
It's interesting that this has similar nomenclature to jesus clips despite the use of "jesus" as an adjective having notably different connotations.
