I think as a user this is the best place where you can suggest. If you are comfortable with github, then you can post there too: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy
Asklemmy
A loosely moderated place to ask open-ended questions
If your post meets the following criteria, it's welcome here!
- Open-ended question
- Not offensive: at this point, we do not have the bandwidth to moderate overtly political discussions. Assume best intent and be excellent to each other.
- Not regarding using or support for Lemmy: context, see the list of support communities and tools for finding communities below
- Not ad nauseam inducing: please make sure it is a question that would be new to most members
- An actual topic of discussion
Looking for support?
Looking for a community?
- Lemmyverse: community search
- sub.rehab: maps old subreddits to fediverse options, marks official as such

It looks like this was requested but not planned to be worked on. Could you add to this issue? https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/1403
Something like a simple hide read / voted.
One of my favourite features of my Reddit app (Sync) is "Mark Read on Scroll" and "Hide Read Posts" as an action button on the main screen. Something like that would be fantastic
I'd love to have this feature, or a "mark as read" button at least
Not that I'm aware of, no. It might already be on a TODO list
There’s the setting „Show read posts“ which can be disabled to hide already read and/or up-/downvoted posts.
There's a "Show Read Posts" checkbox in settings. Is that not what you are looking for?
As far as I have noticed, if you've voted on the post that also counts as "read".
Not quite. It's more like, "Oh, I definitely don't want to see this post, I don't want to read it or see the headline or the thumbnail ever again." It might be cringe, it might be triggering, it might be gore or spoilers or anything else -- where I don't want to block the user or the community, but DEFINITELY don't want to see the post/thread.
