The Lemmy place to discuss veganism.

Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.

The idea that one in five Mexicans is a vegetarian seems implausible.

Wikipedia says 8% vegetarian and 4% vegan, citing 2016 data.

So 4% vegan and 4% vegetarian?

I'm actually kind of shocked the scale tops out at 20%. There are a couple places that I assumed would be closer to one in four or maybe one in three, but I guess I'm way off.

The UK in particular I thought would be higher but some places like Australia I would've guessed lower.

Interesting data.
