This is just absurd. Even if somebody was so motivated to try to make opiates from poppy seeds in this manner, which is already a dumb endeavor on its own, the yields for this would be so small that you'd have to smuggle in literally tons of the seasoning to get any significant weight of poppy seeds out of it. Nobody, even the most desperate of drug cooks, would waste the time and resources doing it this way. It's just not economical.

If anybody in Korea is making illicit narcotics out of poppy seeds, they're just going to be acquiring the seeds in bulk, and they're not gonna be going through customs to do it, either.

Unless they're worried about people being affected by the seeds in the seasoning? In which case... that's just not how it works at all. If poppy seeds caused narcotic-like effects in the consumer, New York City would look like a zombie apocalypse.

As long as they don't restrict Costco's Everything Bagel seasoning.

they should just make it without poppy seeds and label it as the international version. Unless its one of those genetic things like cilantro tasting soapy, they don't really taste like anything anyway.
