Does the Church of Satan have a bible-like book. Seems like it should be alllowed. I'm willing to bet it has less sex and violence than the capital B Bible.

There is The Satanic Bible by LeVey, but I am more of a "supporter" of The Satanic Temple. They have a lot of recommendations on their website. https://thesatanictemple.com/pages/the-satanic-temple-library

It was never about protecting the children or about following the rules. It's just about maintaining power and control over the population.

A lot of people think this is going to be a gotcha point for the Republican leadership. Trust me, that doesn't bother them at all, this is perfectly in line with what they want to accomplish.

Well, they're not known for not being hypocrites.

Shocked it took them this long. I guess they had to go through the motions.

I'm an atheist but I have zero problem with a Bible being available in a school library... you know what turned me into an atheist was actually sitting down and reading the damn thing... I do hope they extend the same shelf space to other religious scripture and books on philosophy but sadly I doubt it.

Normally I would agree, but it's easy for kids to misinterpret the Bible. Most of the books that are banned as just stories. Sure, you can learn something from them, but they're not passed off as guides by which to live your life. When people take the Bible literally, it can lead to some nasty outcomes.

Religious texts should be commented on sensitive parts and given a warning label.

School libraries ought to have all the major religious works of the major religions. Religion has a lot of influence on the world. There are a lot of reasons someone might want to learn about it.

Having just a Bible is bullshit, and imo overt religious indoctrination.

Na Republicans only want the bible, not those other made up ones

My people are going to learn the principles of democracy, the dictates of truth and the teachings of science. Superstition must go.
