I am also planning to sell various instance’s logos as vinyl stickers, with the profits going towards those instances

Do people need to create an account ahead of time?

Banning recently created accounts would be an easy way to combat bots and alts, but if we want to use this event to promote the fediverse, it seems like a shame if new users can't join the event partway through.
