Oh my god that was dangerous from Ocon, Gasly is absolutely right to be pissed.

Ocon literally did what he did to Perez back at Force India - overtake stupidly and leave no room for his teammate.

I am fairly sure this is the worst race I have ever seen. Might as well have called it 80 formation laps. Jesus.

I think I counted like 5 overtakes that did not involve a crashed car. Ridiculous really. Last week at least there was some hope that one could pull a move. No such hope here

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago (5 children)

5 is pretty high for Monaco. I'm sure there have been years with zero on track overtakes before.

Haas and Alpines taking each other out. Typical Sunday.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

Haas was a stupid move by Magnussen, he shouldn't have been there, Nico got caught in it. Ocon, what was he trying to do?

[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 months ago

Leclerc says he'll bring the car home, proceeds to drive directly to his apartment parking garage.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Oh look an overtake.....I have seen enough...Bottas DOTD

Checo should do a Kimi and go straight onto a yacht to his family lol

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Going by past evidence, it is more likely that he will go to a yacht with people who are not his family \s

Holy shit Perez's car. Thankfully he's out of the car.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 months ago

Wow overtakes(plural)α••(ᐛ)α•—

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Ah classic, Alpines bonking into each other. Huge lift off the ground.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 months ago (3 children)

The video editor's gonna have a hard time extending the race highlights over a minute

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

Haha the F1TV commentary just mentioned the exact same thing.

Wow crazy management going on. This seems that it could be pretty dull.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 months ago

As is tradition! This race needs to go, I get the tradition behind the race, but the cars are just too damn fast and large for this track anymore.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

Everyone is trying to go slower than the next driver, that's not racing!

Finally a pass on track! Bottas just got ahead of Sargeant.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

An overtake? THAT COUNTS FOR THE STATISTICS

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

Red flag should be pretty good for the race leaders who started on mediums as they can slap on a set of hards now and likely go to the end of the race on them. Not so good for the Mercedes and Max behind starting on the hards, as they'll have to either stop for mediums later or stick on mediums now but these will likely not last until the end of the race.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

Oh my god now the Alpines! Monaco 70 is quite a mess this far

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

"Of the four of you, you are the best" - now there's some motivation for you, Piastri.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

First points for Williams, great job Albono.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (2 children)

Tsunoda and Albon in 8th and 9th just got lapped by Russell and Verstappen in 5th and 6th..

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

And now Zhou and Sargeant have been lapped twice, I have not seen this in a long time.

Perez out of the GP

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

Yay Red Bull floor pics

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Leclerc's engineer kinda made it sound like Sainz was the cause of the red flag.

Leclerc: Is everyone ok?

Engineer: Everyone is fine. Sainz had a puncture.

Russell taking it super slow with the medium tire. Guess the plan's to take it till the end.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

At last some thing has happened with stroll pitting

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Damn it, a safety car was so close

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Stroll nearly gave us some chaos.

He's finally done it! Well done Leclerc.

Quite surprised to see Russell hold off Verstappen until the end.

The cars are too fucking reliable to give an interesting Monaco race. The fact that there was a 1st lap red flag further diminished any hope of excitement.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Very happy for Charles!

But something needs to happen to this race. As it is now it is a Saturday race with qualifying, the race on Sunday is negligible, boring even.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

They need to spray the track with water at a random time to give us wet racing πŸ€ͺ

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

Well, this is an old school track so how about we honor the old school 'adventures' that made racing so dangerous and exciting?

  1. The water spraying at unknown intervals as you mentioned
  2. Force all the drivers to drink a pint of whiskey and smoke a cigar before they are allowed to enter their cars
  3. Make the guardrails out of bails of hay
  4. Make sure that the runoff areas are running off into the harbour
  5. Mandatory faulty wheel nut, you just do not know which of the four it will be
  6. Helmets made from leather
  7. No visors allowed, just a ray-ban clubmasters

Perhaps if we introduce these rules the race will become more entertaining?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

It kinda looks like a racing incident since the track is narrow or it's on both Checo and KMag

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Sargeant seems to be dropping like a stone: he has been passed by Botas and Stroll, now Zhou is right in his gearbox...

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

This could get tasty

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago (4 children)

Will be interesting to see if max can go forward somewhat

Can't wait for the replay.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

How slow can we drive, and still not be passed. That seems to be the question.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

Max is surprising slow after catching upto Russell. I thought he would all over his back

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Once the top 4 catch up to backmarkers they have to pit, surely?
