So... in reading the article, it seems he suggest the government is using religion to manipulate people into forgetting about all the aliens they're hiding.

So, not so much with the sanity.

Whew! For a second there, I was worried that I agreed with Aaron Rogers.

This should absolutely be the top comment. Holy shit, Rodgers is such a fucking moron

[–] [email protected] 18 points 4 months ago

It did seem like a reasonable statement until the article summed up the stupid.

Ric Romero reporting from the No Shit Sherlock Institute...

[–] [email protected] 19 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Thanks Ric! And now, Kelly Andrews with the weather. How's global warming going, Kelly?

Thanks Ollie

IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN USED TO MANIPULATE PEOPLE! That’s all it has ever been. It’s used to hold power over people by preying on their fear of the unknown.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

It’s used to hold power over people

Yes. It’s used by the rich to make people into stooges to do their bidding.

Goddamn does this headline bury the lede or what?

[–] [email protected] 51 points 4 months ago (8 children)

Lmao… right???

Rodgers is known for his belief in alien life and in the supernatural. During his interview with Carlson, he suggested that the government knows of the existence of these beings, but keeps them from public knowledge and could be using religion to manipulate people’s thinking

Kinda surprised that something sane tumbled out of his mouth.

edit: apparently, it wasn't as sane as the headline made it sound, lol

[–] [email protected] 32 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It wasn't actually sane. It was batshit crazy. The headline was really working overtime to tone it down into a rational thought.

“That gets in the whole other idea about religion being as a way to control people, control thought maybe, which is pretty wild. But disclosure, I think needs to happen. It’s going to be interesting to see how it happens, where it happens.

“But in my space where I’m at, where I do a lot of plant medicine, the veils between worlds and dimensions gets very thin. So the idea of seeing other entities, seeing angelic type of beings and demonic type beings is very normal. And the idea that there’s a demonic aspect to the UIP phenomenon, I think is very It’s plausible and interesting.”

I stand corrected

A broken clock is right twice a day

[–] [email protected] 15 points 4 months ago (1 children)

But he isn’t right nearly that often, lol

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

He has managed not to expose himself to any reporters, so far. For whatever that’s worth.

I guess that means he’s still outperforming his predecessor, but… wtf.. Green Bay? That’s twice?

Kinda makes you wonder what fuckery Fields will bring to the table.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

This clock has spirograph shapes instead of hands.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago

He's actually worse than a broken clock. Even twice a day when he manages to be right, he's wrong - because he's so phenomenally stupid.

Well, duh.

Here's a thing: so are sports.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 months ago (7 children)

You can play sports and not be manipulating people.

You cannot lead a church and not be manipulating people, even if unwittingly.

I don't usually agree with this guy, but on this one, I do agree.

[–] [email protected] 37 points 4 months ago (4 children)

The article makes it clear that what he means is that The Government is using Religion to manipulate people into not noticing all the extraterrestrial life that they have access to.

I wouldn't agree with that sentiment.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 4 months ago

I have a feeling everyone is missing this crucial bit of context.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago

Wait, do I actually agree with Aaron Rogers on something?

(Reads AngryCommieKender's clarification.)

Nope, false alarm!

So do I. It's just news because this guy throws a ball real good?

[–] [email protected] 20 points 4 months ago (2 children)

So funny to call him "Former Green Bay Packers Quarterback."

He's going into his second season on the Jets.

[insert always has been meme here]

[–] [email protected] 15 points 4 months ago

Congrats on him getting his first coherent thought. Hopefully he gets a few more

[–] [email protected] 14 points 4 months ago

Broken clock

[–] [email protected] 13 points 4 months ago

On the one hand, i love to see people questioning their mythology; on the other its nice of you to join us in the modern world, Aaron

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 months ago

Jesus, because aliens. Got it

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 months ago

Amazingly smart for an American "football" player.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 months ago

Even a broken clock is right twice a day...

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago

...and the government could be hiding the existence of alien life because it would change the way people view religion and threaten this control.

I feel like the headline was leaving out the main idea he was getting at.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

I mean fucking duh. But honestly who gives af what he has to sy?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

What's a deep and profound insight.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago

Congratulations 🎉

It's always nice to see people start using the reasoning part of their brain. Let's hope he doesn't fall back into his old routines
