Eh, I guess once august hits October feels really close and soon (in over a month) we’ll see it hit fully with shops coming with Halloween themed stuff long before Halloween itself.

I interpreted this way:

"August" is covering up the fact that fall/autumn is just around the corner.

This could also just be my existential dread that winter is coming.
