What the mermaid didn't tell her is that they also work, get stressed, sad, depressed, cry, sleep, wake, and repeat. The only difference is that they do it while naked^TM^. It's not like clothes are the cause of all our problems. We too can be naked all day if we choose.

I doubt the mermaids have neoliberal capitalism though πŸ€”

[–] [email protected] 40 points 6 months ago (1 children)

They have tyrant rule under sociopathic sharks

The sharks have less pretensions of being decent?

[–] [email protected] 13 points 6 months ago

True but they do have extremely Loud ear bursting sonar pulsing in the oceans all day, lots of extremely loud Motors and other random loud noises that humans make, tons of netting and plastic bags and random pieces of plastic that are really shiny and look like pieces of food, lots of clouds of toxic poisonous ammonia and oil and Industrial chemicals and dyes, an environment that's heating up uncomfortably, becoming less oxygenated, and generally less hospitable.. I can't assume that fish are too happy anymore at all

They're also clogged with microplastic like the rest of us

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 months ago

At least most things are better when you're naked

[–] [email protected] 21 points 6 months ago (3 children)

Why are they fisting her in the last panel? O.o

[–] [email protected] 21 points 6 months ago

One is holding her waist, one is pulling on her right leg. That cuff is her shorts.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 6 months ago

It’s an allegory for how corporations fuck is, and try to control us like puppets.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

How are they fisting her when she’s wearing shorts? o.O

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Special fisting-readyβ„’ shorts.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago

Write that down!

[–] [email protected] 16 points 6 months ago

I don't think emo kids would like it underwater because all their mascara would run.

For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so muchβ€”the wheel, New York, wars, and so onβ€”whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man... for precisely the same reasons.

New York is an achievement now?

[–] [email protected] 13 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Literally fighting for your life every time anything larger than you with teeth swims near because if you're smaller than a thing, you may be food for that thing.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 6 months ago

Who's to say smaller things don't have teeth that'll take a bite out of you?

Being a merperson is so overrated, being a derg is so much better, we're strong, and fast, and can soar through the skies. It is truly the life of adventure and excitement.
