Sure, but that should be your choice to make, not Facebook.
And you’re free to change it. It’s simply a default. What’s your problem?
Don’t like that it’s a default? Don’t use threads. Pretty simple decision making well adjusted humans are capable of doing.
The issue is not with Threads. The issue is with existing service Instagram, adding new settings and setting a default to exclude previously existing content. It's equivalent to Lemmy disabling all feed and limiting you to local, while saying you are free to change in the settings.
This is why tiktok is so dangerous to the status quo, and why people are drawn to it.
