~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

The Vulcan Cosmetology Directorate has determined that the bowl cut is the most efficient and logical hairstyle to suit all occasions.
Except that's not a bowl cut. It's closer to a lame pixie cut than a bowl cut.
The vulcan science directorate has determined that there once were two hairstyles in the past (the second probably having something to do with Romulans). They also determined that time travel is impossible, hence just one hairstyle now.
I mean it's the haircut moms give kids to optimize for time, so it's definitely efficient.

Shouldn't they simply all have a buzz cut? Easy to maintain, easy to keep clean even in difficult circumstances, never gets in the way. Just the most logical haircut.
Scalp sunburns are no joke on Vulcan.
There's a theory that head hair grows longer because of people. Essentially longer head hair was sexy to cromags.
On Vulcan that would've been a different. The Vulcan cromag really liked the look of circumcised penis.

Look, I'm just sayin', if you know there's a particular haircut that looks good on your family's skull shape, it might be logical to stick with it.

It kind of really is
- unisex
- low maintenance, looks pretty much the same at all times
- functional, nothing can get stuck in machinery or fall into the eyes, fits easily into helmets
- unassuming, reasonably aesthetic
That barber must be exhausted.
The Barber of Vulcan gives everyone a bowl cut who doesn't do their own hair, so who bowl cuts the barber? (Ancient Vulcan logic test, too difficult for human minds.)
Vulcan's hair could simply grow to this length and stop.
It's neat.
