I’ve seen no evidence that this was due to pressure from Sony. Also, if the only way you get off is absurd outfits on characters, you could just get a life instead of signing a useless petition.
Ehhh it's grey for me. If the creators wanted it that way, then fuck censorship all around. We shouldn't as a society be scared of boobies.
However, then I'd say we should pressure them for overt sexualization.
Cyberpunk was censored because they had a gasp visible vagina if you manually removed all of Vs clothes and some countries mandated underwear. It wasn't overtly sexual, they wanted it to be truly a role playing game, you were V, you could look down your own pants.
Sony has a history of censorship on games that were fine on pc. And who are you to tell people what they can and can't enjoy?
The whole reason why this game had such a massive large player count in the demo version was because it was following marketing demands ie. Gamemechanics, soundtrack, story, and attractive characters. You can't market the game as being "uncensored in all regions" and show trailers of the uncensored version of the game if your end product is actually censored.
Do they? All I can think of is all of the PlayStation games that have come out with more gratuitous nudity that Sony didn’t bother censoring.
Could add a toggle and make both camps happy, I suppose.
Yeah, we could do that with a bunch of porn films too. Just use this toggles!
That is basically what all the actually good VR porn games are, actually... Just a bunch of toggles to create your fantasies.
shrugs
I mean, if there's demand for it.
I wouldn't be terribly surprised if there'll be generally-available generative AI software that can take existing video and change the clothing that someone is wearing, so while I don't know if it'd be a thing with porn films, it might be more-viable than one might think to have movie clothing variations.
Yeah why would Sony have a hand in censoring it? There are a ton of tittyfull games on PlayStation. Dead or Alive and MGSV come to mind.
